New Centre opening in Burgas, first of its kind in the whole country.

Municipality of Burgas, Regional Directory of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Demetra Association, Hospital MBAL Burgas AD, County- and Regional Prosecutor’s office, the City council and the Municipality of Sozopol, with the active cooperation of The British Embassy in Bulgaria, have started the initiative for creating a first of its kind for the whole country “Support Centre for Sexual Assault Victims” in Burgas. The Centre will be offering individual support for sexual assault victims, including: crisis intervention, psychological counselling, medical help and high-quality investigation.

On March 9th and 10th at the Cultural Centre “Sea Casino” Burgas, a training for the representatives of all the involved institutions took place, conducted by British specialists, working in a similar Centre.
The Centre is due for opening in May 2016, right before the start of the tourist season. In it both Bulgarian and foreign citizens will be offered help and support.
